Clear polythene bags for packing, storage and food use
Clear polythene bags are the simplest, cheapest way to keep a product clean, dry and visible. Made from virgin LDPE film with an open top for heat sealing or a simple fold-over, they suit everything from craft supplies and clothing through to food packing, spare parts and warehouse storage.
We stock two thicknesses. 100 gauge (25 micron) is a light-duty film for dust protection, kitting and retail display. 200 gauge (50 micron) is a heavier film for sharper or heavier contents that need more puncture resistance.

Frequently asked questions
What does gauge mean on a polythene bag?
Gauge is a measure of film thickness. 100 gauge is roughly 25 micron and 200 gauge is roughly 50 micron, so a 200 gauge bag is twice as thick and much stronger.
Are these plastic bags food safe?
Yes. The film is food-grade polythene and suitable for direct contact with dry foods.
Can they be heat sealed?
Yes, all sizes are open-top and can be heat sealed with a standard impulse sealer.
Are the bags recyclable?
LDPE film is widely recyclable at supermarket carrier bag collection points and through commercial soft-plastic waste streams.
All sizes are approximate and subject to a manufacturing tolerance of +/- 5mm.
