Plain grip seal bags
Plain grip seal bags are the everyday clear resealable plastic bag — a rectangular polythene bag with a press-to-close grip seal along the shorter, open side. Slide your fingers along the seal and it closes tight; pull it apart and the bag opens again, as many times as you need. They are the standard choice for small parts, spares, jewellery, craft kits, samples, screws and fixings, and for keeping paperwork and instructions dry inside a larger parcel.
All sizes are measured as width (the opening) x depth, in inches. Smaller sizes are made from 160 gauge (40 micron) film and larger sizes step up to 180 gauge (45 micron), so the bag holds its shape as it gets bigger.
Choosing a size
Measure the widest point of what you are bagging and add roughly 10mm so the item clears the grip seal. If you are kitting several small parts together, go one size up so the seal is not under tension. Unsure? Order a small pack of two sizes and try both before committing to a box of 1000.
