Heavy duty grip seal bags
Heavy duty grip seal bags are made from 300 gauge (75 micron) polythene — close to twice the thickness of a standard grip seal bag. That extra film stops screws, brackets, sharp castings and machined parts pushing through the corners, and lets the bag take real weight without the seal splitting.
They are the right choice for engineering spares, fixings kits, tooling, heavy hardware, sharp components and anything that will be handled repeatedly or shipped loose inside a carton.
How thick is 300 gauge?
Gauge and micron both measure film thickness — 300 gauge is 75 micron. For comparison, our plain grip seal bags are 160-180 gauge (40-45 micron), which is fine for light contents such as paperwork, beads or small plastic parts. Step up to 300 gauge as soon as the contents have edges or weight.
